Tanah Lot - Sunset Tour

An afternoon tour, first to “Taman Ayun” Temple in the village of Mengwi , the royal family temple from the 16^th century, surrounded by a lovely moat and an ideal example of Balinese religious architecture. It’s well kept grassy courtyard boast numerous pavilion and multi-roofed MERU shrines with intricately carved wooden gates.

The onwards to Alas Kedaton, where horded of monkeys will welcome you! Holy Monkey Forest is a cluster of towering trees which are home to hundreds of monkeys who go about their way fearlessly in their temple haven, and hundreds of fruit bats who sleep by day and “hunt” by night.

The highlight of this trip is Tanah Lot, famous in Bali as the Sunset Temple, lies on the west coast of the island and compromises a spectacular, pagoda-like temple, built on a huge, eroded rock offshore as homage to the guardian spirits of the sea Watch the dramatic sunset beyond the black towers of this sacred 16^th century temple. It will be an experience to remember. Tide conditions permitting, you can walk across the beach to the temple.

Return to hotel in the late afternoon.
